Privacy Policy
Effective 31 July 2026.
This policy explains what personal data Merivum collects when you use merivum.com (the paid cognitive assessment) and myiqcheck.com (our free companion test), why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. Both sites are operated by the same person/business, referred to below as "we" or "Merivum."
Who is responsible for your data
Merivum is currently operated by its founder as a sole trader while the underlying Swedish limited company is being incorporated. Until that incorporation completes, the founder is the data controller for the purposes of GDPR. You can reach us at mjohanssonruder@gmail.com for any privacy question or request — this is the fastest way to reach us. We'll update this section with full company details once incorporation is complete.
Information we collect
Account information: if you create an account, we collect your email address, your password (handled entirely by our authentication provider, Supabase — we never see or store it in plain text), your preferred language, and whether you've opted in to a planned future recruiter-visibility feature (see "Recruiter database" below).
Assessment data: your answers, raw score, IQ score, percentile, and per-category performance breakdown for each test you take. If you start a test but don't finish, we record how far you got so we can improve the test experience — this progress record isn't linked to your identity unless you're logged in.
Payment information: when you buy the full report, checkout is handled entirely by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details. We store only a Stripe session reference so we can confirm your payment and deliver your report.
Demographic information (myiqcheck.com only): age bracket, education level, and country, all optional and self-reported as broad categories, never free text. We use this in aggregate to build fairer, better-calibrated scoring norms — never to identify you individually.
Technical information: a session cookie that keeps you logged in on merivum.com, set by our authentication provider (Supabase). On myiqcheck.com, we also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel for advertising measurement — see "Cookies and advertising" below.
Why we use your information, and our legal basis
To deliver the test and your report — necessary to perform our contract with you (or, before you've paid, to take steps at your request before entering into one).
To maintain your account and let you retrieve past results — contractual necessity.
To calculate percentile scores by comparing your result to other test-takers — our legitimate interest in providing an accurate, statistically meaningful score, balanced against your privacy since this uses aggregate, de-identified figures.
To measure and improve ad performance on myiqcheck.com via the Meta Pixel — based on your consent, where required by your location.
To keep the recruiter-visibility flag on your account, if you opted in — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from your account settings.
Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers who help us run Merivum, each acting under their own data processing terms:
Supabase — hosts our database and handles account authentication.
Stripe — processes payments and, as of this policy, acts as merchant of record, meaning Stripe also calculates, collects, and remits applicable sales tax/VAT on transactions.
Meta Platforms, Inc. — receives pixel/advertising event data from myiqcheck.com only, to measure ad campaign performance. Merivum.com does not use the Meta Pixel.
Vercel — hosts the application itself.
These providers may process data outside your country, including outside the EU/EEA. Where that happens, they do so under their own published data-protection safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
Recruiter database
During signup or in your account settings, you can opt in to a planned recruiter-visibility feature, intended to let recruiters discover your profile. As of this policy's effective date, that feature has not launched: no recruiter or other third party has access to your data through this flag. We will update this policy and notify account holders with the flag enabled before the feature goes live, so you can review or withdraw your opt-in first.
Cookies and advertising
merivum.com sets one cookie: a session cookie from Supabase that keeps you logged in. It's required for the site to function and isn't used for advertising or tracking.
myiqcheck.com additionally loads the Meta Pixel, which sets advertising cookies (such as _fbp) and reports page views and test-completion events to Meta, so we can measure whether our ad campaigns are working. If you're visiting from the EU/EEA or another region requiring prior consent for non-essential cookies, we are in the process of adding a consent mechanism for this; until it's live, you can block this tracking using your browser's tracking-protection or cookie settings, or an ad blocker.
How long we keep your data
We currently keep account and assessment data for as long as your account exists, or indefinitely for anonymous test attempts, since we don't yet have an automated deletion schedule. If you'd like your data deleted sooner, contact us (see "Your rights" below) and we'll do it manually.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time (for example, by turning off the recruiter opt-in in your account settings). To exercise any of these rights, email mjohanssonruder@gmail.com — we'll handle it directly, since we don't yet have a self-service deletion tool. If you're in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
Merivum is not directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under that age. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Merivum evolves — for example, once the recruiter-visibility feature launches, once the Swedish company is incorporated, or once a cookie consent mechanism goes live on myiqcheck.com. We'll update the effective date above when we do.
